Maliik Baraka is a leadership coach and former HR executive with over 17 years of experience helping professionals grow into self-assured, empathetic, and effective leaders. His career has spanned leading global HR teams, building inclusive workplace cultures, and recruiting top executives—all with a deep commitment to fostering environments where people feel valued and empowered.
With a background in education, Maliik’s passion for developing others has always been at the core of his work. Before moving into HR leadership, he taught at middle, high, and community college levels, shaping his ability to connect, coach, and inspire. His experiences—growing up in marginalized communities, working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and advocating for underserved groups—fuel his dedication to equity and belonging in leadership.
As a coach, Maliik blends insight, compassion, and real-world expertise to help professionals untangle the internal barriers that hold them back. His approach is shaped by continuous learning through reading, personal reflection, therapy, or conversations within his coaching community. He creates a space where leaders can be vulnerable, gain clarity, and step forward with renewed confidence.
When he’s not coaching, Maliik finds balance through music, BBQ, and college football Saturdays cheering on the Miami Hurricanes. He’s always up for a conversation about jazz, hip-hop, or the art of slow-smoked brisket.
