FAQs
Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
What is Coaching?
What Makes Coach Diversity Different From Other Certifying Schools?
CoachDiversity Institute is the only ICF-accredited program whose mission is to empower diverse communities through coaching. When we teach coaching skills, we teach transformation without skirting around the issues of power and privilege that underpin the challenges that so many of our communities face. We face head-on issues surrounding race, ethnicity, culture, religion, sexual orientation, and ability. At this time, all programs are taught in English.

Depending on the training path you select, the coach training program is 30 hours over 3 days, 60 hours over 4 months, or 125 training hours over 6 months. Students have one year to complete the requirements with full access to virtual labs, peer and mentor coaches.

The Industry Is Unregulated. Why Should I Get Certified?
The methodology of coaching, when delivered correctly, helps clients learn to think in new ways and develop new habits and patterns. There is actually neuroscience behind coaching skills that shows that clients create new neural pathways when coaching is delivered correctly.
However, many practitioners put themselves out there as coaches but do not coach. Instead, they advise, mentor or consult. These are all fine things; however, it is not coaching. With coaching, our clients do not seek answers from experts outside of them; instead, coaches empower clients to develop the capacity for sustainable change for the long haul.
What If I Am Not Ready To Commit To The Full Program?
Not a problem. Enroll in Session 1 (tuition is $2,997). This is the first step toward the full coaching certification program. Students who complete Session 1 receive 30 continuing education units towards coaching certification. When you are ready to continue your training, send us an email at support@coachdiversity.com for next steps.
Can I Start With Be The Change (Session 1) And Then Upgrade To The Full Certification Program In The Future?
Yes. If you decide to enroll in one of the certification programs (ADC or CPDC), the tuition from Session 1 ($2,997) will be counted toward your certification.
What Kind Of Career Can One Have After Certification?
The possibilities are endless! You can build your own coaching business, work as an internal coach within corporations or organizations, incorporate your coaching skills into your current role or business, join forces with other coaches and practitioners from other fields, and much more. If you can envision it, you can make it happen.
How Much Do Coaches Make?
How much coaches earn varies greatly based on how much they charge, their experience, and the field in which they are operating. We have seen coaches charge anywhere from $100/hour to over $1000/hour.
Do You Offer Business Startup Training?
Yes. We at CoachDiversity Institute understand the importance of not only having coaching skills under your belt, but also the mindset and the tools necessary to build a sustainable business for those who desire it. Our instructors are the best in the field when it comes to business integrity and development.
